The formation and processing of thin films of hybrid inorganic materials is a rapidly developing research area. Well-known CPs and MOFs from our research are utilized to grow on nanostructured surfaces like anodic aluminium oxide or semiconducting ITO. These substrates are chosen in order to utilize the properties of substrates in combination with the coordination polymer characteristics.
For an efficient coating of the substrates we developed an in-situ one-step coating combined to coordination polymer or framework formation utilizing melts of the organic linker. Thin films with suitable layer thicknesses can be obtained by coating strategies like sol casting, dip coating, etc., as well as PVD under special conditions that incorporate the thermal stability of the organic-inorganic hybrid materials.
